Pro Tip: Colored plastics do not have any impact on DNA amplification.  But when setting up qPCR it is often recommended to use white plastics.  This will limit or prevent fluorescence refraction.  Light refraction can minimize sensitivity and consistency. 

Pro Tip 2: If you are seeing inconsistencies in PCR/qPCR try PR1MA Pipette Tips.  This will help optimize and reduce variance in the reactions.  Simple test, see the residual liquid left in tips?  This means some of the taq, dNTPs, sample, etc is left in the tip.  PR1MA tips help reduce that significantly and improve your consistency. 

Pro Tip 3: Seeing evaporation in the outer wells of a PCR/qPCR plate?  Sometimes it’s the plate, sometimes it the seal, and sometimes it’s the cycler.  Call us we have solutions.

Choose from three styles of comfortable eye/face protection: spectacles, goggles, or faceshield. Spectacles are made of impact resistant polycarbonate. The top and side shield design provide full UV protection for the eyes. Goggles are constructed of specially-formulated plastic giving optimum viewing contrast and lessened eye fatigue. The lightweight design and flexible rubber trim of the goggles fit comfortably on the face, even over prescription glasses. The Benchmark SureAirTM PCR workstation is a compact, convenient way to reduce contamination concerns and provide a clean room environment at a fraction of the space and cost. The high-powered yet quiet internal fan produces laminar flow conditions without any installation into ductwork. The included HEPA filter purifies air within the chamber, meeting IS0 5 cleanliness standards, and filters 99.97% of particles 0.3 um and larger. The double-hinged front panel provides ample workspace for convenient hand access, and can be opened fully to allow placement of equipment inside.

The SureAir is designed to keep your workspace clean easy-to-use, and organized. An included germicidal UVC light eliminates any stray DNA that may contaminate samples, and is programmed to automatically shut off after 15 minutes. To protect users, the UVC light is only operational when the
cover is closed, and will shut off upon opening the cover. Ample lighting is provided by an energy efficient LED light
source. Up to 3 standard size pipettes are accommodated by the pipette holder integrated within the storage shelf. Pipette tips and small instruments can also be stored away from the main workspace when not in use. Power cables can easilv be routed through the access port on the right side of the chamber.

Adhesive Sealing Film, Polyester, 3.1 mil


The polyester films are a great general purpose seal; ideal for sample protection and elimination of well-to-well sample cross contamination. The acrylic adhesive offers a strong bond that seals tightly on polypropylene and polystyrene plates.

This seal is ideally suited for short term storage, Elisa assays, prevention of sample loss, and general lab usage.

The paper backing of this film is scored on both ends to allow for two handed (precise) placement on the plate.

For PCR applications see our standard PCR film or our Real Time PCR film.

For applications where accessing samples through the seal with pipet tips or a probe is required, see the pierceable aluminum (MID-PCR-200) film.
