Pro Tip: Colored plastics do not have any impact on DNA amplification.  But when setting up qPCR it is often recommended to use white plastics.  This will limit or prevent fluorescence refraction.  Light refraction can minimize sensitivity and consistency. 

Pro Tip 2: If you are seeing inconsistencies in PCR/qPCR try PR1MA Pipette Tips.  This will help optimize and reduce variance in the reactions.  Simple test, see the residual liquid left in tips?  This means some of the taq, dNTPs, sample, etc is left in the tip.  PR1MA tips help reduce that significantly and improve your consistency. 

Pro Tip 3: Seeing evaporation in the outer wells of a PCR/qPCR plate?  Sometimes it’s the plate, sometimes it the seal, and sometimes it’s the cycler.  Call us we have solutions.

Cut gel with pipet tip on the end of a standard 1000µl pipettor. Gel piece is suspended in tip when pipettor is lifted from the gel. Expel the gel piece by pushing the pushbutton on the pipettor. Tip is ejected in normally using the ejector button.

Ready-to-use, ultra-pure, molecular grade solution made from 100mM each of dATP, dCTP, dGTP, and dTTP stock. The PreMix is designed to reduce "hands-on" time for researchers, thereby lowering the possibility of contamination and error. Furthermore, every lot of dNTP solution is pre-tested for optimal performance. The nucleotides are supplied in sterile, doubly distilled water. Each dNTP has a final concentration of 10mM for a total PreMix dNTP concentration of 40mM.

PR1MA RNA Controls

 

Looking for safe assay controls for highly infectious viruses or foreign animal diseases?

 

MIDSCI offers a selection of PR1MA RNAs – nuclease-resistant, single-stranded RNAs, suitable as process controls for RNA extraction from various sample matrices. These specially engineered, non-infectious, MS2 phage-like particles protect their contents from degradation by nucleases and can package sequences of up to 1.5 kb from viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, foot-and-mouth disease virus, and human immunodeficiency virus.
 

Amount: Between 1E6 or 1E10 copies (cp)
Concentration: Between 1E7 or 1E10 cp / mL, respectively
Volume: 0.1 and 1 mL respectively
Lysis: 65° C for 5 minutes in the RT step or by standard RNA extraction

PR1MA Bst DNA Polymerase

 

PR1MA Bst polymerase (patent pending) is a recombinant, truncated, thermostable Bacillus stearothermophilus DNA polymerase with high reverse transcriptase and strand-displacement activities, ideal for isothermal amplification of RNA and DNA targets. PR1MA Bst polymerase has increased sensitivity and speed relative to other Bst polymerases and can incorporate dUTP. 

 

Use PR1MA Bst polymerase to develop LAMP assays with high sensitivity and specificity.

ThermalSeal® RTS™ Optically Clear, Pressure Activated, Non-tacky Silicone Adhesive

 
The silicone adhesive is non-tacky until pressure is applied to the sealing surface which then creates a secure bond around the wells and perimeter of the plate. Also ideal for dry samples (e.g. soil, seeds, insects, etc.) because the non-activated adhesive above the wells remains non-tacky. A roller or sealing paddle is highly recommended for use with this product to ensure consistent and adequate pressure is applied during the sealing process.

Bullseye High Fidelity PCR Master Mix


The newly developed Bullseye HFL PCR Master Mix represents the highest fidelity for a PCR product. Bullseye's HFL PCR Master Mix has eight times higher fidelity when compared to Pfu, previously considered to be the golden standard for high fidelity PCR. This Master Mix also works well for large PCR fragments. 

The Bullseye HFL PCR Master Mix is in a 2X format and contains modified, high fidelity thermal stable DNA polymerases, in a pre-optimized PCR buffer. The amplified DNA will be blunt-ended. When using this master mix for most PCR experiments, only template, primers and H2O will be needed.
