ActionsPCR/qPCR
MIDSCI can supply almost every needed product for PCR/qPCR: tubes, plates, strips, caps, taq, Mastermixes, dNPTs, dye and probe for qPCR, sealing film and much more. If you are looking for any of these things, we can match almost all needs to all cyclers. If you don’t find it easily contact us at tech@midsci.com and we will find it for you.
96 or 384 we have it. Non-Skirted, semi-skirted or full skirted, we have it. 0.1, 0.2, or 0.5 mL we have it. A1, A12, H12, A24, P24 cuts, we have them. Sybr© Green or probe alternative, we have it.
Pro Tip: Colored plastics do not have any impact on DNA amplification. But when setting up qPCR it is often recommended to use white plastics. This will limit or prevent fluorescence refraction. Light refraction can minimize sensitivity and consistency.
Pro Tip 2: If you are seeing inconsistencies in PCR/qPCR try PR1MA Pipette Tips. This will help optimize and reduce variance in the reactions. Simple test, see the residual liquid left in tips? This means some of the taq, dNTPs, sample, etc is left in the tip. PR1MA tips help reduce that significantly and improve your consistency.
Pro Tip 3: Seeing evaporation in the outer wells of a PCR/qPCR plate? Sometimes it’s the plate, sometimes it the seal, and sometimes it’s the cycler. Call us we have solutions.
This brand is being discontinued and will only be available while supplies last.

- Safest DNA stain by far
- Replaces EthBr in agarose gel electrophoresis
- Detection of DNA and RNA
- Excitation at 290nm & 490 nm
- Emission at 530nm
DNA SafeStain is a new and safe nucleic acid stain for visualization of double-stranded DNA, single-stranded DNA, and RNA in agarose gels. The dyes are developed to replace toxic ethidium bromide (EthBr, a potent mutagen), commonly used in gel electrophoresis for visualization of nucleic acids in agarose gels. DNA SafeStain is non-carcinogenic by the Ames-test. The results are negative in both the mouse marrow chromophilous erthrocyte micronucleus and mouse spermary spermatocyte chromosomal aberration tests.
DNA SafeStain emits green fluorescence when bound to DNA. It has two excitation wavelength peaks when bound to nucleic acid, at 290nm and 490nm and the emission can be detected at 530nm.
Storage:
Store under dark at 4°C or room temperature.
User Instruction:
DNA SafeStain can be used in the exact same way as EtBr in agarose gel electrophoresis. For example, add 100µl to 1 liter of 1X running buffer (1xTAE or 1x TBE), and use this DNA SafeStain containing buffer to make the agarose gel and run the gel.
Special Notes:
1. For best results, dilute the DNA SafeStain 1:10,000 in your gel running buffer and use this dye-containing running buffer to make your agarose gel and to run the gel.
2. As is the case with EtBr; add more DNA SafeStain, if brighter DNA bands are desired. To view the results, any conventional DNA gel viewing light box or gel documentation system should work well with the DNA SafeStain; although, using a LED light instead of a UV light source is preferred due to the harmful nature of UV light.

ELISA, Incubation, and Short Term Incubation Sealing Films
All films on this page are designed for ELISA, Incubation, and Short Term Incubation Sealing Films. If you are looking for something specific please consult our selection guides by attribute or application on this page. All films are certified DNase- & RNase-Free.
Specific film descriptions:
1x8 MiniStrips (GP-CS1X8-400 and GPS-CS1X8-400) are less expensive than full-size sheets when using only a partial plate. Designed for use with either 1x8 strip-well ELISA plates or standard 96-well plates where rows must be selectively protected or accessed. Ideal for COVID-19 testing to seal a row of 8 wells after swabs are deposited into a deep-well plate.
General Purpose (GP-PP-100 and GPS-PP-100) polypropylene lms oer superior barrier properties to minimize evaporation and prevent well-to-well contamination. Ideal for use with polypropylene plates.
Pre-scored lm (SP2-RL-500) on a roll is a more economical and ecient alternative to rapidly seal microplates or racked test tubes; faster than applying single sheeted lm. Self-standing, non-slip supports hold the pre-scored lm roll securely in place for quick and easy bench- top dispensement. The roll unwind tension can be easily adjusted to user preference. Continuous backing liner can be torn o or fed directly into a waste basket for disposal.
The SealMate SealPlate Starter Kit (SM-KIT-SP and replacement rolls) features a re-usable dispenser and two rolls of perforated lm. The dispenser facilitates the quick and easy dispensing of lm from a roll allowing microplates to be sealed three times faster than using sheeted lms. Cost-eective replacement rolls are sold separately. Ideal for use under the hood; the SealMate dispenser minimizes lm contamination.
SealPla te (100-SEAL-PLT and STR-SEAL-PLT) minimizes evaporation, prevents well-to-well contamination and spillage. Eliminates the edge eect which can occur with plate lids (e.g. greater evaporation in the outside plate wells).
SealPlate Color Tabs (SP-IDx-100) Each end-tab features a colored dot and white writing area. An inscribed color-coded end-tab can be removed and pasted into a laboratory notebook while the other remains on the plate for identication. The lm sheet can be removed from the plate without disturbing the identication label due to the nely perforated end-tabs. Choose from 5 dierent individual colors or the assortment pack.
SealPlate 2x8 MiniStrips (SP-2X8-50 and SPS-2X8-50) are less expensive than full-size sheets when using only a partial plate. Designed for use with either 1x8 strip- well ELISA plates or standard 96-well plates where rows must be selectively protected or accessed.
ValueSeal (SP-VS-100) features smaller dimensions and a single non-perforated end-tab to provide a more cost-eective alternative to protect samples from evaporation, external contamination, dust and particulates.
