Pro Tip: Colored plastics do not have any impact on DNA amplification. But when setting up qPCR it is often recommended to use white plastics. This will limit or prevent fluorescence refraction. Light refraction can minimize sensitivity and consistency.
Pro Tip 2: If you are seeing inconsistencies in PCR/qPCR try PR1MA Pipette Tips. This will help optimize and reduce variance in the reactions. Simple test, see the residual liquid left in tips? This means some of the taq, dNTPs, sample, etc is left in the tip. PR1MA tips help reduce that significantly and improve your consistency.
Pro Tip 3: Seeing evaporation in the outer wells of a PCR/qPCR plate? Sometimes it’s the plate, sometimes it the seal, and sometimes it’s the cycler. Call us we have solutions.
Double sided water cooled vertical system, 16cmW x 14cm
With its 16 cm wide x 14 cm tall format, the Reflection 1614 large-format, dual-gel vertical electrophoresis unit is great for separating complex protein samples. Run either one or two electrophoresis gels in this vertical gel box that provides both long run lengths and high separation capacity. With Galileo's unique casting base, users are able to both cast and run gels without ever having to unclamp the upper buffer chamber. This allows for safer and more convenient gel handling, especially for those who may be prone to ripping their gels between the two activities.
This vertical gel box includes a water cooling feature for electrophoresis protocols that require lower temperature. This water can be provided by the tap or other temperature controlled source and is easily connected by attaching standard tubing over the 3/8" barbed in/out ports on the device. Users may also facilitate cooling efficiency and uniformity using Galileo's optional alumina backer plates (see accessories below).

The UltraSlim® LED Illuminator is designed for viewing stained gels on the laboratory bench, or within gel documentation systems. Safer lighting from the LED source inside the instrument produces blue light with a narrow emission peak centered at approximately 470 nm, which is more effective for the excitation of most nucleic acid and protein stains. Viewing surface is 120mm x 70mm.
Minigel System 7cm x 8 cm & (1) 6 and (1) 10 tooth comb
Perfectly sized for rapid analysis of small analytes like PCR and RE fragments. This unit features a RapidCast gasketed tray for quick in-unit gel casting.

The standard 0708 mini gel system includes a RapidCast™ gasketed gel tray for convenient gel casting right in the buffer chamber.

Horizontal Electrophoresis System, 20 cm x 25 cm
Horizontal Large Gel Electrophoresis System for 20cmW x 25cm gel. Includes 20cm x 25cm UVT Gel Tray w/ end gates & (1) 16, (1) 24 and (1) 36 Tooth, 1.5 mm thickness. Includes four year warranty.The 81-2025 is a medium capacity system. With a maximum run length of 25cm, the unit can provide high resolution of complex analytes. Or, fitted with maximum capacity combs in all of the tray's 6 comb slots, the unit can handle up to 168 samples. The 2025 features the Galileo ExpressCast gel casting system for quick, tape-free gel casting and includes a built-in bubble level and leveling screws for convenient level adjustment. You may choose from a wide variety of comb options to customize your order.

The system is simple and self contained. A trapping system captures hydrogen bubbles created by electrolysis of the buffer at the cathode (-) end of the unit. As these bubbels move up the canted recirculation tube, they carry buffer along with them and provide a gentle and reliable recirculation system. This system is self regulating and no additional tubing or pumps are required.
Semi-Dry Blotting Systems, 20cm x 20cm
The larger format 2020 system is ideal for transfer of larger gels or simultaneous transfer of multiple smaller gels. System is supplied complete with power leads and a sample pack of our ultra-pure cotton fiber filter paper.
These optically clear polyester films are ideally suited for Real Time PCR (qPCR). They feature an inert, ultra-clear, and strong encapsulated silicone adhesive that provides extraordinary performance in real-time PCR applications.
Encapsulated silicone greatly reduces the risk of sample contamination due to exposure to adhesive. Once the film is pressed onto the plate, the raised portion of the well penetrates the encapsulation and a tight seal is formed on just that surface (not over the sample). This silicone seal adheres aggressively and diminishes the possibility of "Edge Effect".
The plasticized backing of this film is scored on both ends to allow for two handed (precise) placement on the plate. Both film and adhesive maintain incredible clarity and are the choice for highly demanding manual and automated processes.
Certified free of RNase, DNase, Pyrogen, and nucleic-acid contamination.

The polyester films are a great general purpose seal; ideal for sample protection and elimination of well-to-well sample cross contamination. The acrylic adhesive offers a strong bond that seals tightly on polypropylene and polystyrene plates.
This seal is ideally suited for short term storage, Elisa assays, prevention of sample loss, and general lab usage.
The paper backing of this film is scored on both ends to allow for two handed (precise) placement on the plate.
For PCR applications see our standard PCR film or our Real Time PCR film.
For applications where accessing samples through the seal with pipet tips or a probe is required, see the pierceable aluminum (MID-PCR-200) film.
