DuraSeal’s™ superior heat-resistant feature allows for containers to be incubated in boiling water baths without suffering the characteristic melting of paraffin-based alternatives. DuraSeal™ is polyethylene based and free of any adhesives.

DuraSeal™ is easy to use. There is no inter-leaf paper to strip away, just stretch the film symmetrically over a container opening and the 1.5mil thick film contracts inwardly around the opening or neck of the container to provide a drum-tight, water-proof seal. The film can be elongated 500-800% before breakage. The film clings to itself, especially after stretching so the free edges of the film may be stretched around the container to secure the container edges.

Specific film descriptions:

1x8 MiniStrips (GP-CS1X8-400 and GPS-CS1X8-400) are less expensive than full-size sheets when using only a partial plate. Designed for use with either 1x8 strip-well ELISA plates or standard 96-well plates where rows must be selectively protected or accessed. Ideal for COVID-19 testing to seal a row of 8 wells after swabs are deposited into a deep-well plate.

General Purpose (GP-PP-100 and GPS-PP-100) polypropylene lms oer superior barrier properties to minimize evaporation and prevent well-to-well contamination. Ideal for use with polypropylene plates.

Pre-scored lm (SP2-RL-500) on a roll is a more economical and ecient alternative to rapidly seal microplates or racked test tubes; faster than applying single sheeted lm. Self-standing, non-slip supports hold the pre-scored lm roll securely in place for quick and easy bench- top dispensement. The roll unwind tension can be easily adjusted to user preference. Continuous backing liner can be torn o or fed directly into a waste basket for disposal.

The SealMate SealPlate Starter Kit (SM-KIT-SP and replacement rolls) features a re-usable dispenser and two rolls of perforated lm. The dispenser facilitates the quick and easy dispensing of lm from a roll allowing microplates to be sealed three times faster than using sheeted lms. Cost-eective replacement rolls are sold separately. Ideal for use under the hood; the SealMate dispenser minimizes lm contamination.

SealPla te (100-SEAL-PLT and STR-SEAL-PLT) minimizes evaporation, prevents well-to-well contamination and spillage. Eliminates the edge eect which can occur with plate lids (e.g. greater evaporation in the outside plate wells).

SealPlate Color Tabs (SP-IDx-100) Each end-tab features a colored dot and white writing area. An inscribed color-coded end-tab can be removed and pasted into a laboratory notebook while the other remains on the plate for identication. The lm sheet can be removed from the plate without disturbing the identication label due to the nely perforated end-tabs. Choose from 5 dierent individual colors or the assortment pack.

Zone-Free™


Zone-Free is a multilayer film consisting of a top pierceable clear polyethylene film and a white polypropylene sublayer with 96 circular areas void of adhesive.

Application: Short-term storage and robotics
Temperature Range: -40°C to +90°C

The white sublayer aids in the alignment of the film to the plate; alignment of opposing corner wells ensures that all 96 wells will be properly aligned. The adhesive-free zones are 9mm on center to facilitate multi-channel pipetting without adhesive fouling of pipet tips or robotic probes.

    With a 50 µm layer of acrylic adhesive that withstands cold storage at temperatures to -80 °C.

    Unlike other sealing films in the AlumaSeal group, AlumaSeal CS sealing films are not recommended for PCR or thermocycling. A single non-perforated end tab simplifies application. Simply hold the tab and strip the backing from the body of the sealing film as it lays on the plate to avoid curling. Dimensions are 82.6 by 132.6 mm, including the single 9.5 mm end tab. AlumaSeal CS sealing films are certified DNase-, RNase-, and nucleic-acid-free.

    Silicone Sealing Mat for 34, 48, 96, and 384-well

    silicone sealing mats for storage plates and micro-plates minimize sample evaporation in a wide range of temperatures in incubation and storage applications; especially for storage at higher temperatures or for applications involving aggressive solvents.

    These seals pare well with automation as-well-as manual laboratory protocols.  Often used in high-throughput applications or those involving accessing the sample through the cover multiple times.  Well perforations will seal themselves, after penetration, ensuring an airtight closure to the well.

    Our mats are chemically resistant and reusable; containing no adhesives or extractables to contaminate samples.  Made of research-grade silicone, they can be autoclaved, and following a 10% bleach wash and ethanol rinse protocol may be reused.

    An economical and more user-friendly alternative to PCR strip caps; no sore thumbs and fingers guaranteed!

    Application: PCR and light sensitive assays

    Precision cut to a smaller dimension for sealing one PCR 8-tube strip or a single row of a 96-well PCR or deep-well storage plate whenever rows must be
    selectively protected or accessed. FoilStrips remove easily with no splash back as can occur with strip-caps.

    Helpful Tips:

    • A non-locking workstation is recommended for sample prep (e.g. 96-well round-boom plate)
    • Removal of the end-tabs at the perforations is recommended before cycling
    • A final sealing step is highly recommended in the thermal cycler because 8-tube strips flex during handling
