FoilSeal™

Extra thick aluminum foil minimizes shredding upon removal

FoilSeal features a specially formulated adhesive that provides an excellent seal to minimize evaporation, reduce cross-contamination and prevent spillage.

Application: PCR, light sensitive assays and robotics
Temperature Range: -20°C to +120°C

Universal fit for all plate types (e.g. flat-top, raised-rim and non-skirted); the smaller dimensions and rounded corners result in no plate overhang for robotics applications.

  • Certified DNase- & RNase- free
  • Pierceable with a pipet tip or robotic probe for direct sample recovery
  • 2.0mil aluminum foil removes easily without shredding or tearing
  • The conformable nature of foil allows for the visual verification of the seal’s security around each well
  • Not recommended for long-term storage

Helpful Tips:

  • Remove diagonally from a corner to prevent tearing
Optically Clear, Pressure Activated, Non-tacky Silicone

ThermalSeal® RTS™ Optically Clear, Pressure Activated, Non-tacky Silicone Adhesive

The silicone adhesive is non-tacky until pressure is applied to the sealing surface which then creates a secure bond around the wells and perimeter of the plate. Also ideal for dry samples (e.g. soil, seeds, insects, etc.) because the non-activated adhesive above the wells remains non-tacky. A roller or sealing paddle is highly recommended for use with this product to ensure consistent and adequate pressure is applied during the sealing process.

  • Provides an extremely strong seal to minimize evaporation
  • Certified DNase- & RNase- free
  • Chemically resistant to DMSO, acetonitrile, and methanol
  • Ideal for use with flat-top, raised-rim and non-skirted PCR plates
  • High optical clarity and low auto-fluorescence
  • Available in roll format for automation: ThermalSeal® RTS™ Roll-Seal
  • A complimentary sealing paddle is included in each box

Applications

  • qPCR
  • Long-term storage
  • Protein crystallography
  • HPLC
Temperature Range
  • -80°C to +105°C

Helpful Tips

  • Sufficient pressure must be applied to activate the silicone adhesive
  • Multiple swipes of the sealing paddle in both directions is highly recommended
  • A 10 minute or greater wait period before thermal cycling increases the film-to-plate bond

1.4 mL Aluminum Adhesive Sealing Film

Soft and non-permeable, the 1.4 mL aluminum sealing foil offers optimum sealing for all PCR plates. Using a medical-grade acrylic adhesive, our foil seals are easily pierced with single or multi-channel pipettors and robotic probes. These soft foil seals, resist rolling back when removing the backing paper and seal tightly to both PCR and Deep Well Blocks.

Ideally suited for PCR and Cold Storage down to -80 °C. Exceptional adhesive properties and foil material durability yield virtually no sample evaporation or drying.

Certified free of RNase, DNase, Pyrogen, and nucleic-acid contamination.

Optically Transparent, Highly Conformable Adhesive

ThermalSeal® RT2™ Optically Transparent, Highly Conformable Adhesive, Polyester Sealing Film

Designed for use with standard 96-well plates where rows must be selectively protected or accessed. Available in a smaller cut for raised-rim and non-skirted PCR plates: ThermalSeal® RT2RR

  • Certified DNase- & RNase- free
  • Ultra-high optical clarity
  • Minimizes evaporation and cross-contamination
  • Ideal for use with flat-top and hard-shell dual component (e.g. polycarbonate / polypropylene) PCR plates
  • Not recommended for removal after thermal cycling

Application

  • qPCR
Temperature Range
  • -40°C to +120°C

Helpful Tips

  • Selection of the proper film size will minimize evaporation
  • The film should not overhang or ride up the wall of a raised-rim plate
  • More complete coverage of skirted flat-top plates will reduce evaporation in the outer wells
  • End-tab removal before thermal cycling is highly recommended

Zone-Free™

Zone-Free is a multilayer film consisting of a top pierceable clear polyethylene film and a white polypropylene sublayer with 96 circular areas void of adhesive.

Application: Short-term storage and robotics
Temperature Range: -40°C to +90°C

The white sublayer aids in the alignment of the film to the plate; alignment of opposing corner wells ensures that all 96 wells will be properly aligned. The adhesive-free zones are 9mm on center to facilitate multi-channel pipetting without adhesive fouling of pipet tips or robotic probes.

  • Pierceable
  • Offers excellent chemical resistance
  • Samples have minimal contact with adhesive due to the adhesive-free zones

S
ilicone Sealing Mat for 96 plates

  • Made of research-grade silicone
  • Scored wells for sample access
  • Perforations re-seal after access
  • Resists coring and tearing
  • Eliminates cross-talk between wells
  • Also works as a compression mat
  • Suitable for standard PCR thermocycling
  • Mats can be reused
  • For use with 96-well PCR plates
  • Printed alpha numeric grid for easy reference
  • Certified to be free of RNase, DNase, DNA, PCR inhibitors, and Pyrogen contamination.

Works as a plate seal (to eliminate cross contamination) and compression mat all-in-one!

Our compression molded 96-round plug, silicone sealing mats for PCR plates minimize sample evaporation in a wide range of temperatures. These mats are chemically resistant and reusable; containing no adhesives or extractables to contaminate samples.  Made of research-grade silicone, they can be autoclaved, and following a 10% bleach wash and ethanol rinse protocol may be reused.

Wells are scored (cut 80% of the way through, but not all of the way) to allow for sample access via pipettor, syringe, or probe.  These scored perforations will seal themselves, after penetration, ensuring an airtight closure to the well.
