AbsorbMax sealing films are 203 µm thick black vinyl films with 37 µm acrylic adhesive for use with 96-well, 384-well, and 1536-well black microplates. The sealing films may be applied to either the top or bottom of the plate. A split backing aids in applying the sealing film properly. Edge cutouts assist in positioning and accommodate ribs on the plate bottom. The light-blocking and absorbing properties of AbsorbMax sealing films make them ideal for protecting light-sensitive samples during storage. In fluorescence applications they reduce stray light and well-to-well crosstalk.

For top-reading fluorescence applications, apply the black sealing film to the plate bottom with clear-bottom wells.
For bottom-reading fluorescence, use the black sealing film as a top seal. Dimensions: 76.2 by 114.3 mm.

These optically clear polyester films are ideally suited for Real Time PCR (qPCR). They feature an inert, ultra-clear, and strong encapsulated silicone adhesive that provides extraordinary performance in real-time PCR applications.

Encapsulated silicone greatly reduces the risk of sample contamination due to exposure to adhesive. Once the film is pressed onto the plate, the raised portion of the well penetrates the encapsulation and a tight seal is formed on just that surface (not over the sample). This silicone seal adheres aggressively and diminishes the possibility of "Edge Effect".

The plasticized backing of this film is scored on both ends to allow for two handed (precise) placement on the plate. Both film and adhesive maintain incredible clarity and are the choice for highly demanding manual and automated processes.

The AeraSeal™ SealMate™ Starter Kit features a re-usable dispenser and two rolls of perforated film.

Specific film descriptions:

1x8 MiniStrips (GP-CS1X8-400 and GPS-CS1X8-400) are less expensive than full-size sheets when using only a partial plate. Designed for use with either 1x8 strip-well ELISA plates or standard 96-well plates where rows must be selectively protected or accessed. Ideal for COVID-19 testing to seal a row of 8 wells after swabs are deposited into a deep-well plate.

General Purpose (GP-PP-100 and GPS-PP-100) polypropylene lms oer superior barrier properties to minimize evaporation and prevent well-to-well contamination. Ideal for use with polypropylene plates.

Pre-scored lm (SP2-RL-500) on a roll is a more economical and ecient alternative to rapidly seal microplates or racked test tubes; faster than applying single sheeted lm. Self-standing, non-slip supports hold the pre-scored lm roll securely in place for quick and easy bench- top dispensement. The roll unwind tension can be easily adjusted to user preference. Continuous backing liner can be torn o or fed directly into a waste basket for disposal.

The SealMate SealPlate Starter Kit (SM-KIT-SP and replacement rolls) features a re-usable dispenser and two rolls of perforated lm. An inscribed color-coded end-tab can be removed and pasted into a laboratory notebook while the other remains on the plate for identication.
