Gel Crusher™ Spin Column
- Creates uniform gel fragments with no chunks

MTC Bio’s Gel Crusher™ Spin Columns are designed to replace labor-intensive gel fragmentation steps (crush+soak method, etc.). Commonly used in molecular cloning, PCR, restriction digestions, sequencing, and labeling protocols, these spin columns can be used to fragment gel slices (typically cut with a gel extractor or razor blade) into smaller pieces.
These smaller uniform pieces will produce greater yields and can be easily pipetted using wide bore tips into an NaCl solution. This reduces the time to create a fine slurry for further elution, filtration, incubation, etc. Place the Gel Crusher™ column in the 2 mL microtube and centrifuge the column/tube assembly in a standard benchtop microcentrifuge for 5 minutes at maximum speed (generally approximately 15,000 x g).
The gel will be forced through the 600 uM holes into the 2 mL receiver tube. The crushed fragments will be small enough to be aspirated/dispensed through a pipette tip.

Azure ChemiWriter ECL Pen
Chemiluminescent pen for blot annotation
The Azure ChemiWriter ECL Western blot annotation pen is a chemiluminescent marker that enables you to write or draw on your transfer membranes, resulting in a chemiluminescent signal on your markings once substrate is added. Contains a reagent that reacts with HRP substrates to produce chemiluminescence and also a blue dye to allow you to see markings as you write on the Western blot.
Use for tracing visible protein ladders or making identifying marks on your Western blots. Pen has two tips on each end: one fine-tipped for thin markings and one thicker for depositing more of the reagent.

- For best results we recommend annotating your blot after transfer and before starting your Western blotting protocol.
- Once annotated, the blot may be stored dry or wet, refrigerated or at room temperature.
- Storage: pen should be stored tightly closed at room temperature. ChemiWriter ECL reagent and blue ink markings on the blot are stable for at least three months.

Hoefer® Mighty Small Precast Gels
Hoefer® Mighty Small precast gels are high-performance mini polyacrylamide gels commonly used for protein separation. Utilizing the Bis-Tris buffer system, they effectively minimize protein modifications during electrophoresis, resulting in sharper and clearer protein bands with higher resolution.

Hoefer® Standard and Preparative Combs for Mini Vertical Systems
Compatible with SE300 MiniVE, SE260, and the SE250 Series Vertical Electrophoresis Systems.
Precision machined from Teflon®, which is highly resistant to acids, bases, and all commonly used buffer systems. An important benefit of Teflon® combs, compared to other types, is that they are easily removed while maintaining gel integrity. They are lightweight and virtually unbreakable when used with reasonable care. Some combs have microtiter spacing for use with multi-channel pipettes. (See Specifications.)
Standard Combs come attached to a standard back, which produces maximum well depths of 25 mm, except for the 28-well combs, which produce well depths of 15 mm.
- 9- and 18-well Standard Combs have microtiter spacing for use with multichannel pipettes.
- Preparative Combs have adjustable comb backs (10, 15, and 25 mm depth) and form 1 large preparative well plus 1 or 2 small reference wells.

Hoefer® Standard Format Glass Plates for Vertical Systems
Standard format glass plates are for SE660, SE600X Chroma, SE600, SE640, SE410, and SE400 Vertical Gel Electrophoresis Units.
Run as many as four 0.75, 1.0, or 1.5 mm thick gels on SE600 Series units and two gels on the SE400 Series at one time under identical conditions using the double gel capacity Divider Plates. Insert a divider plate between the glass plates that make up a single gel sandwich. Place spacers on each side of the divider plate to form two gel cavities for pouring gels. This two gel “club sandwich” fits into the same casting stand and seals perfectly.

Hoefer® Spacers for Dual and Air Cooled Vertical Systems
Gel Spacers for SE400 and SE600 Series Vertical Electrophoresis Systems.
Engineered for consistent gel casting, these precision-machined spacers are made from high-strength, chemically resistant plastics. Available in three lengths (8, 16, and 24 cm) and multiple thicknesses (0.75 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm) to accommodate various gel formats.

Glow-Writer Pen
Glow Writeris a fine-point phosphorescent ink marking pen for making experimental notations and other markings on chemiluminescent and radioisotope-labeled substrate materials (e.g., transfer membranes, dried gels, genomic and proteomic matrices, etc.) being analyzed by X-ray film autography or electronic imaging. The unique marker delivers a phosphor-containing ink through a fine point porous nib. Before exposure to X-ray film, the phosphorescent writing is excited by room light. A phosphor ink having an optimum concentration of phosphor and a relatively short afterglow halflife (approximately 2-3 minutes) has been selected so that upon exposure to X-ray film,autographic exposures of almost any duration will be easily readable on the film. No matter what size your Western blot is, there's a box that fits it perfectly. With boxes that are correctly matched to common blot sizes, you can fit more blots on shakers/rockers while keeping reagent and antibody usage to an absolute minimum. Additionally, all corners are formed at 90° angles and the bottom surface is uniformly flat, further reducing consumption of costly reagents and antibodies (for example, popular mini gels require only about 4 mL).
At a price that makes them truly disposable, all sizes are engineered from crystal clear polystyrene. The exception is our opaque black boxes (except WBB7BK and WBB15BK), which protect light-sensitive samples. All sizes are also equipped with an easy-to-open hinged lid that reduces evaporation.
