PR1MA™ Rapid Coomassie Stain

Chemical Formula: C5H10O5

Solubility: Water

Storage Temperature: Room Temperature

This unique Coomassie Blue based formulation features a special dye that is absorbed by protein bands instead of the gel matrix. This eliminates the need for destaining and offers enhanced sensitivity and sharper resolution of bands. Protein bands can be detected within 10 minutes. Maximum intensification may require incubation up to 40 minutes. Offers greater convenience and sensitivity than conventional stains. Compatible with silver staining. Rapid Coomassie stain uses a simple two-step procedure. Stain is designed to detect as little as 7.9ng of protein within one hour of electrophoresis.

Supplied as 20X concentrated solution.

Shelf life is approximately 18 months at room temperature.

Azure ChemiWriter ECL Pen

Chemiluminescent pen for blot annotation

The Azure ChemiWriter ECL Western blot annotation pen is a chemiluminescent marker that enables you to write or draw on your transfer membranes, resulting in a chemiluminescent signal on your markings once substrate is added. Contains a reagent that reacts with HRP substrates to produce chemiluminescence and also a blue dye to allow you to see markings as you write on the Western blot.

Use for tracing visible protein ladders or making identifying marks on your Western blots. Pen has two tips on each end: one fine-tipped for thin markings and one thicker for depositing more of the reagent.

Quantity: 1 pen

Features

Enables you to write or draw on your transfer membranes. A chemiluminescent signal will be detectable from your markings once chemiluminescent substrate is added.

  • Use for tracing visible protein ladders or making identifying marks on your blots. Pen has two tips on each end: one fine-tipped for thin markings and one thicker for depositing more of the reagent.
  • There are two heads to the pen, a fine point tip and a thicker chisel point tip.
  • We recommend using the fine point tip to annotate the blot and mark protein ladders for detection.
  • The chisel point of the pen can be used to deposit an increased amount of reagent on the blot for more intense signal.
  • For best results we recommend annotating your blot after transfer and before starting your Western blotting protocol.
  • Once annotated, the blot may be stored dry or wet, refrigerated or at room temperature.
  • Storage: pen should be stored tightly closed at room temperature. ChemiWriter ECL reagent and blue ink markings on the blot are stable for at least three months.

Azure Nitrocellulose Membranes

Pre-cut Nitrocellulose membrane for Western blotting

Low-fluorescence Nitrocellulose membranes are available in both 0.45 μm and 0.22 μm pore sizes to accommodate larger and smaller proteins, respectively. We recommend using the .45 µm pore size for the most analytical blotting: protein, ssDNA, and RNA transfers.

  • Low molecular weight proteins
  • Typically used for chemiluminescence
  • Not ideal for stripping
  • Excellent binding properties

Quantity: 10 membranes each

Azure PVDF Membranes

Pre-cut PVDF membranes for Western blotting applications

Ideal for chemiluminescent and colorimetric Western blotting. Pre-cut to save you time in the lab. These low-fluorescence PVDF membranes reduce background noise and nonspecific protein binding for improved sensitivity. Available in three different pre-cut sizes.

Quantity: 10 membranes per package

Features

Low-fluorescence PVDF membranes reduce background noise for improved sensitivity. PVDF (polyvinylidene difluoride) membranes are commonly used for immunoblotting techniques, like Western blots. During the blotting process, samples are transferred from the protein gel onto a PVDF membrane by electroblotting. From there they can be used for protein sequencing.

  • High binding capacity is great for low-expressing proteins
  • Typically used for fluorescence
  • High protein retention for stripping and reprobing

RunBlue gels are more rigid and up to 10 times stronger than conventional precast gels resulting in more robust gels that can be handled with confidence. No tearing - an 8% gel can be thrown into the air and caught without breaking!

  • RunBlue gels are manufactured using a unique method of polymerisation that results in more uniform and more complete polymerisation of the Acrylamide when compared to conventional, chemical based methods. This results in gels that have superior batch to batch reproducibility and practically eliminates exposure to un-polymerised Acrylamide.
  • RunBlue gels incorporate a stacking gel that has been dyed (red for SDS) for the simplest ever sample loading. In addition, there is no comb to remove as the top of the teeth are fixed in place. This not only prevents the teeth from being accidentally torn off during comb removal but that all of the wells are uniform, with the teeth remaining vertical. This prevents sample cross contamination / inability to load desired Vol. The teeth also protrude above the lower front plate of the gel cassette preventing sample flow over into adjacent wells.
  • Runblue gels are available in two different cassette sizes providing compatibility with the most common gel tanks and apparatus.  10x10 cm cassettes are compatible with Invitrogen/Life Technologies equipment and any other equipment designed for this format, such as the Hoeffer and Owl tanks. Our 8x10 cm cassette is designed to fit the Biorad equipment (Mini Protean I, II and II, Tetra etc).
  • The resolving gel on RunBlue gels extends to the very bottom of the cassette which not only provides improved resolution but also there is no protruding gel that requires trimming prior to blotting. There is also no additional tape / covers to remove - simply take the gel from the pack and use.
  • RunBlue gels are supplied in boxes of 10 gels. They are available in a 12 well format, covering a range of concentrations and gradients.

Benefits of RunBlue Precast Gels

  • 2 year shelf life - never throw away another gel
  • Up to 10x stronger - no more torn, ruined gels
  • Load up to 20µl - see everything in your sample
  • Dyed stacking gel - makes gel loading child's play (SDS = Red)
  • No comb to remove - no more broken or bent teeth
  • Full length resolving gel - improved resolution and better blotting
  • 10x10 cm and 8x10 cm cassette - total compatibility with most popular tanks including Invitrogen and Biorad equipment
  • Fast delivery with immediate and expert technical support for total peace of mind
  • Best value gels available - save money!

Western Blot Boxes

  • The perfect box for every blot
  • Reduce antibody usage
  • The hinged Lid minimizes evaporation
  • For halves, wholes, strips, or minis

No matter what size your Western blot is, there's a box that fits it perfectly. With boxes that are correctly matched to common blot sizes, you can fit more blots on shakers/rockers while keeping reagent and antibody usage to an absolute minimum. Additionally, all corners are formed at 90° angles and the bottom surface is uniformly flat, further reducing consumption of costly reagents and antibodies (for example, popular mini gels require only about 4 mL).

At a price that makes them truly disposable, all sizes are engineered from crystal clear polystyrene. The exception is our opaque black boxes (except WBB7BK and WBB15BK), which protect light-sensitive samples. All sizes are also equipped with an easy-to-open hinged lid that reduces evaporation.
