PR1MA™ Hot Start Taq
- Exceptional sensitivity for low-copy PCR
- Ideal for multiplex PCR and amplification of GC-rich DNA
- Same enhanced features as PR1MA Taq Polymerase
- Buffer optimized for fast cycling and reproducibility
Engineered for controlled polymerase activity, PR1MA™ Hot Start Taq is bound with a monoclonal antibody that blocks enzyme activity. This allows reactions to be set up at room temperature without the risk of non-specific amplification.
When samples are ready, the reaction mixture is heated to 95°C to denature the antibody and initiate the reaction. Similar to the standard PR1MA™ Taq, Hot Start Taq is provided with a 5X buffer, or in a ready-to-use 2X Master Mix. The Master Mix can be ordered with or without an incorporated red gel loading dye. The Red Dye Master Mix incorporates a red-loading dye that allows amplified samples to be loaded directly on an agarose gel. The red color aids in visualization during pipetting, and higher density of the buffer ensures that the samples will drop into the gel wells.

TC-96 Turbo™ 2D Gradient Thermal Cycler
- Exceptionally fast cycling – speeds up to 9°C/second
- 2D Gradient for simultaneous optimization of annealing and denaturation temperatures
- Large, folding 10” touch screen
- Program wizard for quick and easy protocol entry
- Optimize results with MIDSCI™ PCR reagents
The Benchmark™ TC-96 Turbo™ 2D Gradient Thermal Cycler is designed for fast cycling and quick protocol optimization. Exceptionally easy to program, the unit features tight temperature control and excellent block uniformity for consistent, reliable results.
Many thermal cyclers offer users the option to select a temperature gradient across the block to test a range of annealing temperatures simultaneously. The TC-96 Turbo™ offers a 2D gradient – across both the columns and rows – allowing for optimization of annealing and denaturation temperatures in the same run. The ability to optimize both steps provides for an increase in yield and specificity of complex or GC rich templates. Temperature ramp rates as fast as 9°C per second allow reactions to be performed quickly – up to 20% faster than other popular thermal cyclers. Temperature change is precisely controlled by a proprietary algorithm that simulates sample temperature and allows samples to arrive at the programmed temperature without any lag or overshoot.
All operating parameters are controlled and monitored from the large, full color, 10” touch screen. The screen can be angled toward the user for easy access and folded back against the instrument when not in use to save space. Entering and editing programs is intuitive with the program wizard. Programming features include adjustable ramp rates, temperature and time increments/decrements, password protected multi-user login and a memory for 30,000 programs.
TC-96 Turbo™ will accommodate 96 x 0.2 or 96 x 0.1 mL tubes as well as non-skirted 96 well plates. The height of the heated lid is auto-adjusting to prevent condensation for all of the accepted consumables. Temperature of the lid is adjustable.
Compatible with select MIDSCI™ PCR reagents, click here to see options.

MultiCycler™ Multi-block Thermal Cycler
Designed for laboratories wanting flexibility in their applications, Benchmark’s MultiCycler™ Thermal Cyclers offer multiple, independent cycling blocks in a single unit.
- Dual or triple block models are available, both offering extremely fast cycling profiles
- Large touchscreen interfaces
- Self-adjusting heated lids
- Gradient capabilities
- Easy-to-use program wizard.
All programming features are accessed from the large, 10” full-color touch screen. The screen can be angled towards the user when in use and then tucked away to save space. A program wizard guides users through the simple protocol setup process. Advanced programming features include gradient, adjustable ramp rates, and time increments and decrements. For multi-user labs, password protection prevents interference with an existing run. A USB provides for unlimited program storage and easy transfer of protocols between MultiCycler™ machines.
The auto-adjusting heated lid prevents condensation and evaporation of samples. Lid temperature can be programmed, and when the block temperature is below 35°C, the lid automatically shuts off. Peltier units allow for exceptionally fast heating and cooling of the blocks. Temperature change is precisely and accurately controlled within tight tolerances by a proprietary algorithm that simulates sample temperature, resulting in fast runs and reproducible results.
The wells are arranged in a 4×8 and 6×8 format, allowing for the use of PCR strip tubes in both models. Each block is independently controlled.

myGel InstaView™ System | Complete System with Power Supply
- View DNA migration and separation as it happens
- Blue light illumination - won't damage DNA
- Capture high-resolution images without removing the gel from the tank
The myGel InstaView™ comes complete with everything needed to cast, run, and view mini electrophoresis gels, including an integrated power supply. One large (10.5 x 10 cm) or small (10.5 x 6 cm) gel is accommodated by the gel tank. Gels are easily poured using the supplied trays, combs, and leak-proof casting stand. The power supply connects directly to the gel tank – no more leads to contend with. The connection is guaranteed to be right, every time.
Output voltage can be adjusted to 35V, 50V, or 100V and run time can be set for up to 99 minutes. A magnetic interlock between the gel tank and the lid prevents current from running through the system when the lid is not properly in place.
Once the myGel InstaView™ System is set up, simply slide the mini LED transilluminator into place under the tank and at any time turn it on to view the run in real-time. An array of blue LEDs emits bright blue light at a wavelength of 465 nm for optimal excitation of common green fluorescent stains such as SmartGlow™, SYBYR™ Green, and Gel Green, without damaging DNA. An orange filter is incorporated into the lid for visualizing DNA bands without any additional equipment or special glasses. When it’s time to document results, place the included gel imaging enclosure over top of the myGel InstaView, and use the camera app on any smartphone to capture high-resolution images without removing the gel from the tank.
Images are easily shared via email or text message or printed.

InstaView™ Gel Tank
For labs that prefer to use a separate power supply, the InstaView™ Gel Tank is the perfect choice for running, viewing, and documenting electrophoretic separations. The InstaView™ Gel Tank accommodates one large (10.5 x 10 cm) or one small (10.5 x 6 cm) gel tray and is supplied with trays, combs, and a leak-proof casting stand. The gel tank lid includes attached power leads which prevent the unit from operating without the lid properly in place.
Any standard power supply can be connected, including the Accuris myVolt™ Mini and myVolt Touch. The InstaView™ Gel Tank is shaped to allow the mini-LED transilluminator (included) to slide underneath. Blue light, at a wavelength of 465 nm, provides excitation of common green fluorescent stains such as SmartGlow™, SYBR™ Green, and GelGreen. An orange filter is incorporated into the gel tank lid for visualizing the DNA in the gel box without any additional equipment or glasses. The transilluminator can be turned on at any time during a run to track progress and automatically shuts off after 5 minutes.
After electrophoresis, simply place the included imaging enclosure over the InstaView™ Gel Tank to capture high-resolution images with a smartphone. Images are easily printed or shared via email or text message.
