- Firm, stiff neck for easier handling
- Specially designed neck to prevent the plug from falling in
- Universal closure compatibility
Drosophila Closures
Drosophila closures can maintain the sealing of drosophila vials and bottles, which is beneficial to the growth and development of drosophila and blocks the entry of mites to ensure the accuracy of experimental results. Available in densest foam, densest sponge, and degreasing fiber.
Densest Sponge Closures
Densest sponge drosophila closures are autoclavable, and can completely block the entry of mites. Moderate hardness, easy to operate, not easily deformed and damaged, and can be reused.
- Autoclavable, not easily deformed and damaged, and can be reused
- Cause minimal shedding and reduce evaporation
- Maintains tight fit after repeated use and removal
Densest Foam Closures
Densest foam drosophila closures have a good deformation effect and can maintain a tight fit to the vial wall after repeated use and multiple movements, high air permeability ensures the growth of drosophila.
- The material density is moderate and the deformation effect is good, easy to operate and maintains a tight fit to the vial wall after repeated use and multiple movements, high air permeability ensures the growth of drosophila
- Cause minimal shedding and reduce evaporation
- Maintains tight fit after repeated use and removal
Degreasing Fiber Closures
Degreasing fiber drosophila closures have excellent shaping effects, compact internal space, prevent mites from entering while still ensuring breathability, are cost-effective, recommended for one-time use.

Quietek™ Euthanasia System
The Quietek™ is a carbon dioxide delivery system that has been specifically designed for use with laboratory mice and rats. It’s simple interface allows the user to focus on the task at hand rather than monitoring a flow meter and controlling carbon dioxide flow manually. Once the Quietek has been installed and set, a keylock feature prevents the settings from being modified. This ensures that euthanasia is performed humanely, ethically, consistently, and in keeping with your organization’s policies (which should include consulting the AVMA Guidelines for US institutions).
- If your research requires alternate or specific flow rates, we can likely customize the instrument to meet your needs.
- No animals were harmed or euthanized for the main purpose of developing or testing this product.
- The AVMA has not certified this product.
- Made in the U.S.A.
Product Advantages
Compliant
The Quietek is programmed to operate only within flow rates allowed by the AVMA for a given cage or chamber volume. The cage or chamber volumes can be programmed by designated staff and then locked to prevent changes. This ensures that CO2 is delivered ethically, consistently, and according to your organization’s policies every time.
Easy
Once the Quietek has been installed and set up, a simple push of the “Start” button begins the flow of CO2. If the need arises, the run can be aborted by pressing the button a second time. Otherwise, the carbon dioxide flow will shut off automatically when a sufficient volume has been delivered to the cage / chamber. A countdown timer indicates how long it will be until the flow will be shut off.
Economical
While CO2 is generally inexpensive, when the time and labor associated with ordering and changing tanks is added in, it can be. Since the Quietek is optimized to automatically shut off the flow after a sufficient amount of CO2 has been delivered, annual use can be significantly reduced. Feedback from our customers has praised the automatic shut-off indicating significant reduction in cost and interruptions to the workflow due to valves left open by staff performing the task manually.
Humane
The euthanasia process should be monitored continuously to ensure a humane endpoint. Since the flow of carbon dioxide is automatic, this allows the user to focus on the animals rather than a timer.
Quietek Calibration
Calibration service will ensure that your Quietek instrument is working the way it should. The calibration service includes evaluation of the device, repair of any systems required to bring the instrument up to full working order, and calibration of the flow rate to ensure it meets the AVMA recommendations.
