Azure Nitrocellulose Membranes
Pre-cut Nitrocellulose membrane for Western blotting
Low-fluorescence Nitrocellulose membranes are available in both 0.45 μm and 0.22 μm pore sizes to accommodate larger and smaller proteins, respectively. We recommend using the .45 µm pore size for the most analytical blotting: protein, ssDNA, and RNA transfers.
- Low molecular weight proteins
- Typically used for chemiluminescence
- Not ideal for stripping
- Excellent binding properties
Quantity: 10 membranes each
Azure PVDF Membranes
Pre-cut PVDF membranes for Western blotting applications
Ideal for chemiluminescent and colorimetric Western blotting. Pre-cut to save you time in the lab. These low-fluorescence PVDF membranes reduce background noise and nonspecific protein binding for improved sensitivity. Available in three different pre-cut sizes.
Quantity: 10 membranes per package
Features
Low-fluorescence PVDF membranes reduce background noise for improved sensitivity. PVDF (polyvinylidene difluoride) membranes are commonly used for immunoblotting techniques, like Western blots. During the blotting process, samples are transferred from the protein gel onto a PVDF membrane by electroblotting. From there they can be used for protein sequencing.
- High binding capacity is great for low-expressing proteins
- Typically used for fluorescence
- High protein retention for stripping and reprobing

Hoefer® Semi-Dry Transfer Units
Hoefer® Semi-Dry Transfer Units are efficiently designed to use minimal buffer to transfer proteins from polyacrylamide gels onto membranes (either nitrocellulose or PVDF) in less than an hour. They support as many as two layers of gels being transferred simultaneously. The TE70XP has a 14 x 16 cm maximum transfer area, which can handle up to four mini gels using the stacked format. The TE77X and TE77XP have a 21 x 26 cm transfer area for a capacity of up to 12 mini gels at one time.
- Included safety circuit breaker—limits voltage and current from the user's power supply, preventing electrical damage to the transfer unit
- Requires minimal current—does not generate the excessive heat that can dry out the transfer stack and halt transfer or damage transfer units
- Durable iridium oxide and stainless steel electrodes—allow for contamination free, consistent transfer
- Vented electrodes—prevent buildup of bubbles which may impair transfer
- Minimal buffer requirements—reagent cost and preparation time are reduced
- The TE70XP and TE77XP Semi-Dry Transfer Units have an intelligent built-in power supply that prevents the stack from overheating by monitoring the transfer status

- Chemiluminescent Western Blotting
- The most common method for Western blot detection is chemiluminescence. Detection by chemiluminescence is relatively sensitive and works well for detecting individual or low abundance proteins.
Radiance Plus Chemiluminescent Substrate
The most sensitive HRP substrate available for chemiluminescent Western blotting.
With attomole sensitivity and a long-lasting signal, Radiance Plus allows you to detect bands not visualized with other substrates. High signal-to-noise and a large dynamic range make it ideal for quantifying low-intensity bands.
Size: 150 mL
Features
- Low-abundance protein detection
- Compare performance to competitor products, like SuperSignal West Femto and Amersham ECL Select
- Sensitivity in low femtograms
- Signal duration 6-8 hours
Radiance Q Chemiluminescent Substrate
Radiance Q chemiluminescent substrate is specially formulated for use with Azure Imaging Systems, or other CCD imagers. This novel horseradish peroxidase (HRP) substrate provides a strong, long-lasting signal, the broadest useful linear range, and high sensitivity for the most quantitative chemiluminescent Western assays.
Size: 150 mL
Features
Increase the sensitivity and quantitative accuracy of your chemiluminescent Western blots. Specially developed for CCD imaging, Radiance Q produces a strong, long-lasting signal with extremely low background, perfect for detecting low abundance proteins. Because the substrate is not depleted at high protein loads, Radiance provides the largest dynamic range of any chemiluminescent substrate, improving quantitative accuracy.

Glow-Writer Pen
Glow Writeris a fine-point phosphorescent ink marking pen for making experimental notations and other markings on chemiluminescent and radioisotope-labeled substrate materials (e.g., transfer membranes, dried gels, genomic and proteomic matrices, etc.) being analyzed by X-ray film autography or electronic imaging. The unique marker delivers a phosphor-containing ink through a fine point porous nib. Before exposure to X-ray film, the phosphorescent writing is excited by room light. A phosphor ink having an optimum concentration of phosphor and a relatively short afterglow halflife (approximately 2-3 minutes) has been selected so that upon exposure to X-ray film, autographic exposures of almost any duration will be easily readable on the film. The fine point nib is easily replaceable if it dries out.Fine-Point Phosphorescent Marking Pen for Laboratory Autography
- Fine Point Nib- Provides fine writing and greater information density
- Specially Designed- Ideal glow intensity and afterglow duration helps prevent over-andunder exposure
- No Ink Clogs- Low ink viscosity and porous nib prevents ink from clogging
