Disposable Inoculating Loops and Needles

 

These sterile disposable plastic loops and needles are designed for use in quantitative procedures such as sampling, urine counts, serial dilutions, and bacterial inoculation. Because they are pre-sterilized and designed for single use, there is no risk of cross-contamination and no need for flaming.

The unique hexagonal shape of the shaft makes it easier to grip, orientate, and guide through a smooth streaking process. The loop surfaces are extremely smooth with no rough edges and no flashing or burrs on the loop head. This results in the elimination of cutting or gouging of the agar surface.

 

Flexible Polypropylene Loops

 

The flexibility of polypropylene loops makes it easier to maneuver them within Petri dishes, test tubes, or other confined spaces, improving the researcher’s ability to collect and transfer samples efficiently. The flexibility allows for more precise sampling from cultures, especially when working with small or delicate colonies that could be easily damaged by more rigid instruments.

 

Rigid Polystyrene Loops & Needles

 

Rigid loops and needles allow for more precise streaking patterns on agar plates, which is essential for isolating individual colonies or performing quantitative assays. They are also better suited for handling viscous or dense samples, where flexibility might impede the ability to effectively collect and transfer the sample.

 

Inoculating Loops and Needles

Our Inoculating Loops and Needles are smooth and flexible to facilitate uniform, smooth streaking without damage to media/gel surfaces. The needles are straight and suitable for removal of single colony specimens. The loops are extra-smooth and constructed of polypropylene and rubber. Both the loops and needles are packed sterile in safe, tamper-proof, zip-seal resealable bags. Cross contamination due to improper sterilization is eliminated. They can be used under hoods without danger, are color coded for ease of size identification, and are extra long to reduce the risk of contamination. Reusable Inoculating Loops & Needles

Inoculating Loops:

• High-quality twisted nichrome wire.
• Cool rapidly and are less expensive than platinum.
• Calibrated Loops are supplied with calibration certificates based on ASM/APHA Evans Blue Dye test protocols.

 

Inoculating Loop Holders:

• Nickel plated brass.
• Handles are insulated to protect the hand during use.

• High-quality twisted nichrome wire attached to a lightweight aluminum handle.
• Handles are insulated to protect the hand during use.
• Calibrated loops are supplied with calibration certificates based on ASM/APHA Evans Blue Dye test protocols.

 

Inoculating Needles:

• High-quality nichrome wire that cools rapidly after sterilization.
• Attached to a light-weight and insulated aluminum handle.
