A wide selection of premium centrifuge tubes are just a click away at MIDSCI!
We have the centrifuge tubes you’re looking for.
If you need to keep your light sensitive compounds nice and safe, turn to our Litesafe centrifuge tubes. Unlike amber tinted tubes, these ones are fully opaque and eliminate the hassle of using aluminum foil to protect your samples.
If you’re looking for high-quality, made in the U.S., centrifuge tubes for standard benchtop storage and mixing of liquid, then we highly recommend the conical Tornado Tubes we carry.
And if it’s sterile centrifuge tubes that won’t buckle during spins or crack at -80C that you need, then you’ll want to purchase the TPP premium centrifuge tubes we stock.
Forensic MicroSpin
- Forensic MicroSpin is a valuable device for the extraction of DNA from crime scene samples.
- Forensic MicroSpin is specifically manufactured to prevent DNA or RNA contamination of the device prior to use.
- The receiver tube can be capped to protect the sample for storage or freezing
Spec and Instructions:
- The device has a filter unit, and a 2ml graduated micro centrifuge tube with an attached cap.
- The filter unit has an integral perforated bottom that filter acts like a strainer and allows fluids to pass but retains small cloth samples in the filter unit.
- A cloth sample from the crime scene is cut into small pieces and inserted in the filter unit.
- Add appropriate solvents or buffers to the cloth sample in the filter unit that will permit extraction of DNA.
- The filter unit is then placed into the 2ml microcentrifuge receiver tube, and the entire assembly is centrifuged in a microcentrifuge as indicated in the DNA extraction protocol being used by the forensic laboratory.
- Following centrifugation, the filter unit is removed from the filtrate receiver tube, and the cellular debris in the bottom of the tube can be DNA fingerprinted by the forensic technician.
- Maximum centrifugal force is 20,000 x g. Non-Sterile.
- Includes Filter Unit & 2.0ml Receiver Tube

SuperClear™ Culture Tubes and Caps
- Ultra-clear resin
- Colored tubes available
- Medical grade (U.S.P.) packaging
- Thicker walls will not crush
These precision-molded, conical and round bottom tubes are perfect for a multitude of general laboratory uses. Precision crafted of extra clear virgin polypropylene in natural and colors or clear virgin polystyrene. Tube caps are made of low-density polyethylene for a secure seal and are available in a fluted plug style or dual position design that permits sample aspiration.
Polypropylene tubes are autoclavable to 122°C and freezable to -80°C. Polystyrene tubes are not autoclavable but have a nominal temperature range between 90°C and -40°C. Polyethylene caps are not autoclavable but are available pre-sterilized with many of the tube packages.
Polypropylene tubes can be centrifuged to 3000 RCF and polystyrene tubes will withstand 1500 RCF. (RCF; Relative Centrifugal Force, is not equivalent to RPM)
Gel Crusher™ Spin Column
- Creates uniform gel fragments with no chunks
- Fits in standard microtubes
- Increases DNA yield
- For use in molecular cloning, PCR, restriction digestions, sequencing, and labeling protocols
- Fits 2 mL receiver tubes
MTC Bio’s Gel Crusher™ Spin Columns are designed to replace labor-intensive gel fragmentation steps (crush+soak method, etc.). Commonly used in molecular cloning, PCR, restriction digestions, sequencing, and labeling protocols, these spin columns can be used to fragment gel slices (typically cut with a gel extractor or razor blade) into smaller pieces.
These smaller uniform pieces will produce greater yields and can be easily pipetted using wide bore tips into an NaCl solution. This reduces the time to create a fine slurry for further elution, filtration, incubation, etc. Place the Gel Crusher™ column in the 2 mL microtube and centrifuge the column/tube assembly in a standard benchtop microcentrifuge for 5 minutes at maximum speed (generally approximately 15,000 x g).
The gel will be forced through the 600 uM holes into the 2 mL receiver tube. The crushed fragments will be small enough to be aspirated/dispensed through a pipette tip.
Reversible Racks
- Alphanumeric markings and are supplied in packs of 5.
- Choose 60 well (5 x 12) or 96 well (8 x 12) formats
