The ABS plastic version comes with optional attachments to hold pipet bulbs and pipet fillers on both sides of the rack. Cut-out "windows" on the ABS version makes the viewing of enclosed pipets easy. Reversible Microtube Storage Racks

This reversible rack comes with a simple-to-use removable hinged lid that snaps in place on either side of the rack. Rack and lid are molded out of autoclavable polypropylene. PCR® side of the rack has 168 wells that hold 0.2 mL tubes. The wells will accommodate 8 or 12 tube strips or individual tubes. The opposite side of the rack has 40 wells that hold 0.5 mL tubes. The PolarSafe cryogenic 2D vials, available in 2 and 5 mL sizes with internally or externally threaded caps, are idea for rapid processing of biological samples. The embedded Datamatrix code at the bottom of each vial along with the corresponding "Code 128" barcode on the body of the vial, saves time and provides accurate organization and tracking of valuable samples.

The 2D vials can be safely stored in polycarbonate boxes (purchase separately). The storage boxes also feature the 2D Datamatrix code and Code 128 barcode to provide automatic identification of both the box and stored vials.

5 mL Snap-Cap MacroTubes®

5 mL MacroTubes® scale up the conveniences of standard 1.5 mL tubes for larger volumes. These polypropylene tubes come with an attached cap that provides a tight, leak-proof seal and can be opened (or closed) with one hand. The cap is designed to provide a secure seal from -86°C to 80°C.

They have the same diameter as standard 15 mL tubes for compatibility with centrifuge rotors, etc. They have replaced 15 mL tubes in many applications, reducing plastic waste, storage space, and shipping costs. Contamination of pipettor shafts can be eliminated because the tube length is short enough for standard 1 mL and/or 5 mL tips to reach the tube's conical bottom. The syringe port in the cap is useful not only for needle and syringe access but also for venting internal pressure that has built up due to incubation at higher temperatures.
