MTC™ Bio 25 mL Centrifuge Tubes
Â
MTC™ Bio 25 mL Centrifuge Tubes are the perfect solution for applications requiring more volume than 15 mL tubes but less than 50 mL. Designed to close the gap between standard sizes, these mid-volume conical tubes are ideal for midipreps, sample preparation, centrifugation, mixing, and long-term storage.
Â
With a 33% shorter height and a wide diameter identical to 50 mL tubes, these low-profile tubes enhance efficiency by allowing faster pellet re-suspension and 100% sample recovery, even with small volumes. Their unique design also helps prevent cross-contamination, thanks to a pipette-friendly, wide-mouth opening that reduces accidental contact with the inner tube wall.
Â
Made of high-clarity polypropylene, each 25 mL tube can withstand up to 17,000 x g RCF (relative centrifugal force) and features a 360º support rim beneath the screw cap. This rim fits most standard 50 mL tube rotors, racks, blocks, and centrifuge shields, eliminating the need for adapters—similar to the convenience of 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tubes.

5 mL Microcentrifuge Tubes with Screw Cap
Â
Our new 5mL MacroTube has the convenience of a 1.5mL tube but scaled up for larger Vols. In many cases, these can replace 15mL tubes, dramatically reducing plastic waste, storage space and shipping costs. The tubes are made of high clarify, low binding virgin polypropylene and are certified RNase/DNase free. The 16mm diameter is identical to standard 15mL tubes, thus ensuring compatibility with existing centrifuge rotors. Other equipment, specially designed for 5mL tubes is available.
The MacroTubes are suppled with 20mm(OD) caps that seal smoothly and completely with a single 360° turn. Useable from -86 °C to 110 °C, they are a valuable vessel for boiling and low temperature sample preservation. Choose from non-sterile bulk packaging, or sterile rack packaging (upright in foam racks with caps attached).
Specifications
- Compatible with standard equipment
- Withstands up to 25,000 X g
- Dual graduations (at every .2mL and .5mL)
- Unsurpassed clarity
