PR1MA Touch Power Supply

The PR1MA Touch is a workhorse electrophoresis power supply, ideal for the efficient separation of nucleic acids and proteins as well as basic western blotting applications. Four pairs of output jacks are wired in parallel for connecting multiple electrophoresis tanks. A color touch screen allows quick setting and monitoring of all run conditions, including run time, voltage, and current. Users can select “Constant Current” or “Constant Voltage” during an electrophoresis run, keeping the chosen parameter fixed as resistance changes. The dual orientation design with a rotating display allows the PR1MA Touch to be installed in the most convenient location, on a shelf or bench, saving valuable space.

 

The PR1MA Touch features a logical user interface.

Setting up an electrophoresis run couldn’t be easier; simply touch the parameter to select it, press the “up” and “down” arrows to adjust the value, and then touch “Start”. All parameters are always displayed, with no need to toggle between Time, Voltage, or Amperage. In addition, the run status is always displayed.

Mystaire® PCR Prep Stations

Compact laminar flow enclosures that reduce the risk of sample contamination while performing polymerase chain reaction experiments.

Airborne contaminants are prevented from entering into the work zone through constant positive pressure HEPA filtered air. Each PCR prep station is equipped with a built-in 254 nanometer shortwave lamp to effectively decontaminate the work area between amplifications. Safety interlocks are included on all PCR prep stations to prevent operator exposure to potentially harmful UV radiation.

MY-PCR prep stations are bench-top personal clean zones allowing the operator to amplify RNA and DNA while minimizing the potential for background from airborne contaminants.

PR1MA Taq provides superior results for routine applications. Modified to improve DNA-binding, this polymerase offers higher solubility and greater template affinity, resulting in consistently superior performance. PR1MA Taq Polymerase exhibits a 5' to 3' nuclease activity, but no 3' to 5' (proofreading) activity and works well with a wide range of DNA templates including GC-rich sequences.

 

The polymerase is supplied with a 5X buffer containing MgCl2 and a proprietary mix of enhancers (dNTP's not included). For convenience, PR1MA Taq is also available in a ready-to-use 2X Master Mix - just add primers and template DNA. Our "Red Dye" Master Mix incorporates a red-loading dye that allows amplified samples to be loaded directly on an agarose gel.  The red color aids in visualization during pipetting, and higher density of the buffer ensures that the samples will drop into the gel wells.

This simple-to-program PCR thermal cycler unit is compact in design and built to perform. Programming is intuitive with the large display and multiple pre-programmed templates supplied with the unit.

 

The OptiMax comes with standard built-in 2-step, temperature optimization, touchdown, and time increment protocols that are easy to adjust to meet your cycling needs. You can select lid temperature or turn it off depending on your needs. The faster ramp rates allow more work to be done in a workday.

Distinct Heat Optimization

The MultiGene OptiMax employs a new protocol optimization process improving on older gradient features. This “Better than Gradient” capability allows users to select up to 6 distinct annealing temperatures to be run simultaneously. This is ideal for method optimization as well as applications like genotyping.

 

The OptiMax utilizes FlexTemp technology that effectively separates the 96-well plate into 6 – (4 x 4) temperature regions that allow you to pick the temperatures you want to test against. These regions are easily identified by the blue and black squares visible on the microplate platen. Instead of having the thermal cycler choose temperatures for you, you can choose any temperatures you want within a 24°C range.

 

The MultiGene OptiMax has a heating rate of 5°C /sec and a cooling rate of 3.5°C/sec. We have minimized overshooting and undershooting so that your reactions only see the temperatures they are supposed to see. This also leads to faster runs time.

 

Intuitive User Interface

The MultiGene OptiMax utilizes an intuitive user interface. This user interface is friendly to the laboratory environment and consistent with what our customers previously enjoyed in our earlier models. It can be used with lab gloves even if wet. We have improved the ramping speed and eliminated overshooting and undershooting which contributes to longer run times.

 

Fully Adjustable Heated Lid

The OptiMax’s heated lid is fully adjustable to provide optimum pressure for use with a broad range of tubes and microplates. For optimum performance, the lid can also be programmed to hold different temperatures between 60° to 65°C and 100° to 115°C. The OptiMax lid prevents condensation and slides away and back from the user to provide full access to samples and reduce the risk of coming in contact with a hot surface.
