Disposable Spreaders

  • Spread cultures and liquids evenly
  • Smooth-edges – minimize “gouging”
  • 3 configurations: “L”, “T”, or Triangle
  • Ideal for bacterial CFU Counts
  • Pre-sterilized – no flaming required
All versions are supplied in sterile packaging, but are also autoclavable and have smooth, rounded edges to prevent unwanted cutting, scraping or gouging of agar during inoculation.

L-Shape:

The original spreaders are ideal for spreading bacteriological cultures evenly. The shape allows the user to rotate and apply easily throughout an entire round plate or dish. They are made of ABS and have a slight upward curve at the edge to prevent dragging or scraping.

T-Shape:

This shape ensures that consistently even pressure can be applied across the entire span of the 34 mm spreading surface. Designed for spreading and dispersing liquids across the surface of agar culture plates, they are made of ABS and commonly used for CFU plate counts on water, milk, urine, etc.

Triangle Shape:

This new design is also used for CFU count applications, but has a grooved handle that improves grip and orientation. Made of polypropylene, they are available with a 30 mm span or an extra large 60 mm span.

Inoculating Loops and Needles

Our Inoculating Loops and Needles are smooth and flexible to facilitate uniform, smooth streaking without damage to media/gel surfaces. The needles are straight and suitable for removal of single colony specimens. The loops are extra-smooth and constructed of polypropylene and rubber. Both the loops and needles are packed sterile in safe, tamper-proof, zip-seal resealable bags. Cross contamination due to improper sterilization is eliminated. They can be used under hoods without danger, are color coded for ease of size identification, and are extra long to reduce the risk of contamination. Certificate of conformity is available upon request.

Incu-Shaker™ - Stackable Shaking Incubator

The new Benchmark Incu-Shaker™ 20L and 20LR introduce a high-throughput, space saving shaking incubator system to the Incu-Shaker family. Now with stacking capability of up to 2 units, the Incu-Shaker™ 20 series are highly space-efficient without compromising on reliability or temperature performance. Thoroughly tested for years of reliable performance, the same proven brushless induction motor drive is featured as in other Incu-Shaker instruments. The high grade stainless-steel internal chambers provide temperature accuracy within ±0.1°C, and industry-leading uniformity within the chamber of ±0.5°C. The Incu-Shaker™ 20L features temperature control from 5°C above ambient temperatures up to 60°C. The 20LR features a built-in powerful compressor, allowing for cooling down to 4°C, even while the shaker is in use, up to 60°C.

The increased chamber size now allows for up to 4 5-Liter Erlenmeyer flasks to be in use at once. Usable space is maximized by providing adjustable shelving above the shaker platforms, which can be used for incubation of Petri dishes, cell culture plates, or other smaller vessels. Even when two stacked units are working, the noise and vibration levels are significantly minimized by the advanced, computer-designed motor isolation system.

The Incu-Shaker™ 20 series feature a non-slip rubber mat platform, and can be outfitted with Benchmark’s MAGic Clamp™ universal magnetic platform. Magnetic flask attachment accessories can then be used, allowing for easy, toolless addition and removal of flasks from the shaker. Flask clamps of most sizes, tube racks, and other magnetic vessel holders are available and usable with the Incu-Shaker™ 20L and 20LR. The Incu-Shaker 20L and 20LR are now available for efficient, repeatable growth culture and other applications.

Highlights:
  • Stainless steel chamber provides premier temperature uniformity
  • Proven reliable, maintenance-free Incu-Shaker™ motor drive system
  • Bright, intuitive touch-screen controls
  • Instantly change flask clamps with MAGic Clamp™ accessories
  • Included pull-out adjustable shelf for static incubations

Additional Advantages

Flasks are available in either filter cap or vented cap:

The TPP Click

1. A click and the <> screw cap is in the <> aeration-position.
Visual control: the slightly raised rectangle is at 12 o'clock.
2. Turn <> screw cap clockwise 90° to close the flask gas-tight closed.
Visual control: the slightly raised rectangle is at 3 o'clock.

Filter Membrane in Filter Screw Cap
The filter screw caps feature a hydrophobic PTFE membrane with a pore size of 0.22 µm. This offers protection - as the hydrophobic characteristics repel any fluid - with optimal gas exchange at the same time.

Features of TPP Tissue Culture Flask with re-closable Lid 115 / 150 cm2:

  • Multi-use re-closable liquid-tight lid
  • Complete access to flask chamber from above
  • Safe, stable, slip-free stacking of multiple flasks
  • Optionally available with barriers with additional safety zone

It is important that only filter screw caps are employed. An internal pressure of more than 0.03 bar (0,00043 psi) in the flask without pressure equalization might raise the lid and result in leakage.

Features of TPP Tissue Culture Flask with peel-off Foil 25 - 300 cm2:

  • Available in all sizes: 25 - 300 cm2
  • Large pinched flap for a firm grip
  • Foil is peeled off before access to the cultivation chamber
  • Strong welding of peel-off foil
  • Multi-layer foil material
  • Stacking ring offers stable and slip-free stapling of several flasks
  • Optionally available with barrier

This flask cannot be re-closed after the foil has been peeled-off.
The foil is welded securely to the polystyrene carrier.
It is important to use only filter screw caps. An internal pressure of more than 0.03 bar (0,00043 psi) in the flask without pressure equalization might raise the foil and result in leakage.
