Distinct Heat Optimization

The MultiGene OptiMax employs a new protocol optimization process improving on older gradient features. This “Better than Gradient” capability allows users to select up to 6 distinct annealing temperatures to be run simultaneously. This is ideal for method optimization as well as applications like genotyping.

The OptiMax utilizes FlexTemp technology that effectively separates the 96-well plate into 6 – (4 x 4) temperature regions that allow you to pick the temperatures you want to test against. These regions are easily identified by the blue and black squares visible on the microplate platen. Instead of having the thermal cycler choose temperatures for you, you can choose any temperatures you want within a 24°C range.

The MultiGene OptiMax has a heating rate of 5°C /sec and a cooling rate of 3.5°C/sec. We have minimized overshooting and undershooting so that your reactions only see the temperatures they are supposed to see. This also leads to faster runs time.

Intuitive User Interface

The MultiGene OptiMax utilizes an intuitive user interface. This user interface is friendly to the laboratory environment and consistent with what our customers previously enjoyed in our earlier models. It can be used with lab gloves even if wet. We have improved the ramping speed and eliminated overshooting and undershooting which contributes to longer run times.

Fully Adjustable Heated Lid

The OptiMax’s heated lid is fully adjustable to provide optimum pressure for use with a broad range of tubes and microplates. For optimum performance, the lid can also be programmed to hold different temperatures between 60° to 65°C and 100° to 115°C. The OptiMax lid prevents condensation and slides away and back from the user to provide full access to samples and reduce the risk of coming in contact with a hot surface.

 PR1MA LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler

  • "Mini" sized, 9 x 7 inch footprint
  • Capacity for 32 x 0.2 mL or 4 PCR Strips
  • Intuitive touchscreen control

"Mini-sized" doesn't have to mean a sacrifice on features and performance. PR1MA's LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler offers advanced programming features, easy-to-use software, and fast, reliable cycling but with a smaller block and lower price point.

Designed for lower throughput needs, the PR1MA LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler has a capacity for 32 x 0.2 mL tubes. The wells are arranged in a 4 x 8 format, allowing the block to accept strips of 8 as well as individual tubes. The block heats and cools very quickly - at rates as fast as 5°C/second. A proprietary algorithm controls block temperature, bringing samples quickly to the target temperature without any over- or under-shoot. Excellent block uniformity ensures consistency from sample to sample.

The operation of the thermal cycler is controlled from the large, full-color, touch screen. Icon-driven menus allow users to get running quickly. Programming is extremely simple and includes options for time and temperature increments/decrements, adjustable ramp rates, and auto pause and restart functions. More than 100 typical programs can be stored in memory and easily recalled. After a run, samples can be held at 4°C. An on-screen report is also available at the completion of a run.

The heated lid is self-adjusting - the spring-loaded platen in the lid comes firmly into contact with the tops of the tubes to prevent sample evaporation and condensation. There are no knobs to turn or levers to adjust. The temperature of the heated lid can be changed, or the heating function of the lid may be turned off.

With a footprint less than that of the average laboratory notebook, the PR1MA LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler will fit almost anywhere. Its reduced capacity block and economical price make the PR1MA LD032 Mini Thermal Cycler the perfect choice for lower throughput laboratories and educational facilities.

Accuris QuadCount Automated Cell Counter

The Accuris QuadCount improves on the simple technique of brightfield microscopy by utilizing an LED light source, precision optics and a high resolution CMOS detector. A finely tuned, motorized XYZ positioning stage provides for extra fine focusing and ability to capture multiple images.

With count speeds at fast as 20 seconds per sample, the Accuris QuadCount provides many advantages over the tedious and time consuming manual hemocytometry method. The advanced software eliminates human bias in dead/live determinations, reduces counting errors, saves time, and improves efficiency.

The QuadCount utilizes a unique 4-chambered disposable QuadSlide.  Four samples can be processed in one slide (twice the capacity of standard 2-chambered slides), decreasing consumable costs.  Each chamber has a hydrophilic inner surface with an engraved grid pattern. High precision production and molding ensure that each QuadSlide meets the rigorous standards and dimensional tolerances required for optimal counting performance.

3 Count Modes Available to analyze different sample volumes.
  • Quick Mode: 0.15 uL / 20 seconds (1 image frame)
  • Normal Mode: 0.9 uL / 30 seconds (6 image frames)
  • Precise Mode: 3.6 uL/ 100 seconds  (24 image frames)
The QuadCount’s ability to analyze larger sample volumes/multiple images provides significantly better accuracy.

Advanced Optics and Imaging Technology
The Accuris QuadCount incorporates the highest quality optical and electronic components, such as a 4X objective lens and 5 MP CMOS detector, to ensure reliable performance and consistent results.
The precision motorized stage adjusts the position of the lens and sensor assembly in micron increments for automatic focus.  Multiple image frames (up to 24) can be captured to increase the volume of sample counted, providing a higher level of accuracy.

Competitor Q uses a single light source to excite all samples.

Differences in light path length lead to differences in excitation, which requires normalization. Though Competitor Q has said that they do not require normalization dyes, this is not reflected in the data as the data CV values for replicates is significantly higher.

Why doesn’t the Cielo require ROX dye?

The Cielo does not require ROX dye because it uses in-well detection technology. The light path for excitation and reading emission are collimated directly into the well. As such, the light path length is always the same for each well, so there is no need to normalize for varying light path length. The data from the Cielo is consistently uniform and reproducible.

Buttons for on/off, mode, and tare are located on the front for easy access. The software includes a calibration function for in-lab calibration with a 100 g or 500 g calibration weight (which are available separately).

Designed for portability, the Accuris Mini Balances are powered by 2 AAA batteries. After one minute of sitting idle, the power automatically shuts off to conserve battery life. Ideal for lab or field use, each balance includes a snap-on protective cover with instructions conveniently printed on the underside.
