Phosphate Buffered Saline is a buffer solution commonly used in biological research. PBS has many uses because it is isotonic and non-toxic to most cells. These uses include substance dilution and cell container rinsing.

  • Appearance: Clear and Colorless Solution
  • Composition: Sodium Chloride: 1.37M, Potassium Chloride: 0.027M, Phosphate Buffer: 0.12M
  • Method: Prepared in 18.2 megaohams-cm ± 1 water and filtered through 1 micron filter
  • pH (1X Solution): 7.2 - 7.6
  • pH (10X Solution): 6.8 - 7.2
