TPP PCV Easy Read Cell Counting System
The TPP PCV Easy Read Cell Counting System provides a fast, reproducible, and cost-effective alternative to traditional hemacytometer counting and expensive automated counters. Using Packed Cell Volume (PCV) tubes, suspension cells can be quickly centrifuged to form a visible pellet that is measured directly in the tube. With either graduated PCV tubes or the Easy Read Ruler, researchers can achieve accurate, objective cell counts without the time, labor, or subjectivity of microscope-based methods.
Designed for versatility, the TPP PCV System supports mammalian, insect, and microbial cell cultures, offering consistent results across multiple cell lines. The method requires only a 1-minute spin at 2500×g in a standard centrifuge, enabling multiple samples to be processed in parallel with minimal effort. By establishing a one-time standard curve for each cell line, labs can streamline workflows and eliminate repetitive counting steps.

The all-in-one eCount combines a multifunction electronic counter with a Sharpie® pen for marking petri dishes to prevent missing or double-counting colonies. Light, ergonomic body is balanced for easy manipulation. Touch controls for multiple counts, sums, counting up or down, and more! Includes fine-point Sharpie® pen and weighted stand.

Touch pressure with felt tip marker on petri dish registers cumulative count on the digital display with confirmation by audible tone (can be turned on or off). The pressure required to register a count can be adjusted to suit each user. Averaging facility calculates average count over multiple plates. Counting results as well as useful statistics including SD can be sent directly to the accessory printer or to a computer via a USB cable supplied.
Sub-stage illumination by low energy bright LED's allows glare-free optimum viewing. A switchable black background is provided to enhance viewing of translucent and difficult to see colonies. Supplied with a Wolffhuegel graticule, segmentation dish and dish centering adapters to facilitate use with 50mm to 90mm dishes. A choice of magnifiers and a printer are available as optional accessories.
