The PR1MA™ Cell Strainer system is a fast, efficient, and easy-to-use solution designed to streamline the process of cell isolation and filtration. Ideal for flow cytometry, this advanced straining system is perfect for detaching, isolating, and filtering cells from clusters and tissue samples.
Each cell strainer features a durable polypropylene frame supporting a nylon mesh, available in eight distinct, color-coded pore sizes ranging from 5 uM to
100 uM. Eight fine mesh options offer enhanced control for filtering cell aggregates and clumps, improving experimental precision.
The innovative frame design significantly improves filtration performance. By eliminating the “air-lock” effect, PR1MA™ Signature Cell Strainers promote faster flow-through and better aeration, reducing spillover and processing time.

PR1MA™ Centrifuge Tube Filter Systems

PR1MA™ Cell Strainers
PR1MA™ cell strainers from MIDSCI™ can be used for many applications including isolating cells and removing clumps or debris. They are compatible with standard 50 mL centrifuge tubes. The exclusive Pestle design improves the manipulation of material in the strainer during operation.
- Polypropylene housing with nylon mesh filter eliminates the need to fabricate filters from gauze, paper, nylon mesh, or other materials
- The elongated lip on the housing extends beyond the edge of the centrifuge tube enabling aseptic handling with forceps
- Extended gripping tab on housing for easy handling
- Available in three porosities: 40, 70 & 100 µm
- Color-coded by mesh porosity for easy identification
- Packaged sterile (gamma irradiated) in individually wrapped peel-to-open paper/plastic wrapper or bulk packed in bags
